In 2022, students from the Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, Oklahoma used the skills they developed in their prison education courses to create the Mabel Gazette H.E.R.O., an inmate-run publication discussing current events, lifestyle and more.

In 2023, Oklahoma Christian University hosted the first annual Mabel Bassett Refrigerator Art Show. The art on display was created by members of the inaugural HOPE Institute cohort under the theme of ‘God is Love,’ and incorporated the show’s title, ‘Faith, Hope and Love.’
